Phantom Eden – Revolution Children

Earlier, I posted the reimagination of Utopia For The Devil – Phantom Eden.

Revolution Children is the next instalment in the series, advancing the story further by going back to where it all started. Prequel to the events of the original novella, Revolution Children reveals unanswered questions and explores the fall of a utopia.

The first Phantom Eden book contains Utopia For The Devil and New Dawn, completely rewritten with brand new, additional material. Phantom Eden is the first part of a new trilogy, with Revolution Children being the second instalment.

I’ll be sharing more details about Revolution Children, including a full synopsis in the new year.

Phantom Eden – Utopia Reimagined

Forget everything you know about Utopia For The Devil. Today, I’m pleased to announce the next step in the Utopia For The Devil series: Phantom Eden.

2010 was the year for the original novella, closely followed by New Dawn in 2011. Now, we’re hitting the reset switch to tell both parts of the story in a brand new way.

With the book containing two parts: Utopia For The Devil, New Dawn, and additional backstory and material, this is the definitive version of the tale about rebellion, free-will and ancestry.

Completely rewritten from the original two stories, Phantom Eden features brand new material, such as an expanded backstory and interquel chapters to bridge the gap between Utopia and New Dawn.

Coming 2013, Phantom Eden will be published in one volume, available in paperback and eBook formats. Stay tuned, as I have more exciting news regarding Phantom Eden to share in the coming months.

Writing Pad 2012 Rescheduled – 21 December

Reschedules and delays are something I take very seriously. So it comes with a steady hand that Writing Pad 2012 will be rescheduled for 21 December, moved from its original date of 12/12/12.

Writing Pad is being pushed back until next week, as I’ve made the decision to reveal an additional piece of upcoming content that I otherwise wouldn’t have shown. The delay comes from producing materials to show on the 21 December.

Since this is short notice, I apologise for any frustration and impatience. But in the long run, this is a positive, as I’ll be able to share an exciting piece I’ve been working hard on for the first time with you next week.

Writing Pad 2012 Site Online

As per last week’s announcement, the special site for Writing Pad 2012 is now online. On 12/12/12, I’ll be releasing info about everything currently on my writing pad and all the projects I’m currently working on. Information will be posted throughout the day onto the special dedicated page.

Writing Pad 2012

For the second year running, Writing Pad will be returning to the site on the apt date of 12/12/12. Throughout the day, I’ll be posting news on current writing projects, that should give you an insight as to what’s on my writing notebook.

A special, dedicated page will be posted next week in preparation for the event. Writing Pad will be an exclusive online event.

Considering Utopia Part 3

When I wrote the novella, Utopia For The Devil, I always envisioned it as a duology. I wanted to show a progression of time, so the characters could evolve, and the dynamics of the situation within the city could change. I found doing this in one book wouldn’t fit well, as the two parts are different in style and tone.

Whilst writing the second novella, New Dawn (which I personally refer to as, ‘Part 2′) I came up with four different ideas for ‘Part 3′. The ideas were all very different, each of them taking a unique route. In short, they weren’t all conflicting ideas for a sequel, but rather, four unique ideas for four different stories.

It’s very possible that I could write up to four more instalments in the series, but for now, 2012 is the year for Beyond, which was re-revealed last month during Writing Pad.

I am considering expanding the story and universe of Utopia further, but right now, Beyond is my priority.

It may be of interest to readers of Utopia, that I began writing a plot outline for Part 3, until I scrapped the plans. The plot elements didn’t go wasted though, as many of them are recycled in Beyond.
